Dr. John Lyons

Dr. Lyons is the inaugural Director if the IPH Center in the College of Public Health at the University of Kentucky.

After receiving his doctorate in Clinical Psychology and Statistics at the University of Illinois, served on the faculties of

Northwestern University, University of Ottawa (and CHEO), and University of Chicago before founding the IPH Center in Lexington.

He has developed a conceptual framework for system change called Transformational Collaborative Outcomes Management (TCOM)

and person-centered metrics to inform this approach. The most common of these, the Child and Adolescent Needs and Strengths (CANS) is used throughout the world. This year, more than 90% of all children and youth served in either public mental health or child welfare in the US are touched by the CANS.

This scope of use provides the infrastructure for Dr. Lyons presentation.
